LOVE …

A piece of skateboard art I did a while ago for an Exhibition.

I was given the theme ‘Love’ and the colours red, white and black.

Love floats like a feather,

Is as fragile as flesh,

And burns like a flame.

Love cannot be manufactured by one, it must be shared amongst many,

Felt.

Love is exhilarating, playful and painful.

Love must be tended, ridden and respected,

Balanced.

It needn’t be a canvas, song or story,

It can also be a deck.

A rainy day doodle using random novel covers for the figure/face inspiration…

They were on separate pages but fit together quite nicely… 

I touched a Cheetah! 
Thanks Inject Design for the exciting and scary Cheetah Encounter. 
I wanted to steal away with him, but he was bigger than me and can run much faster…

MELBOURNE…

I visited Melbourne for the Create Awards, to hang with Mike Watt and The Drawing Book crew and see the city streets in all their colourful glory! I will be back.

DESKTOP CREATE AWARDS…

I am very lucky to have been shortlisted for the Desktop Create Awards! In the Illustration and the Typography categories. The awards are in Melbourne in September. Ooh just to be shortlisted is so exciting!

11ELEVEN PROJECT EXHIBITION…

Yay! I am excited to be one of 11 artists to have a piece of art in the 11Eleven Project launch exhibition in Sydney on the 24th July. The pieces are auctioned off to support the project. See the invitation and be sure to check it out if you are in town. (Will have photos after the show ;)

BATHING IN COFFEE…

ANIMAL INSPIRATION… 

We visited Sydney Zoo, Harry took photos, the animals have such beautiful patterns. The way they wrap around the contours is amazing.

HAND PAINTED INSTRUMENTS…
 

 Mercury Crowe asked me to paint some quick designs on a guitar and a drum for their latest music video ‘Ride’. Hand painting feather patterns in red and blue on two of my favourite instruments? Why of course I will!! The big feather on the bottom right of the guitar was left un-finished so the gypsy girl with the feather paintbrush could finish it off in the video clip…..
